Canberra Trip 2017
On Saturday 9 December 2017, 43 excited Year 9s and four teachers set off for a whirlwind tour of Canberra. The trip provided an invaluable opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. From the very first minute we set foot in Canberra, it was a whirlwind of action. We could almost smell the adrenalin at the AIS, brushing shoulders with future Olympians (maybe) before taking a walk back in time at the National Dinosaur Museum. The following day was dedicated to the exploration of our democracy, with visits to the Museum of Democracy, The Australian Electoral Commission and Parliament house. It was great to see how much the kids remembered from Social Studies this year! The Australian… Read more

International Student News
The past week was extremely busy at Golden Grove High with students leaving after their 4 week exchange and some arriving to start their exchange at Golden Grove High School. On Sunday 13 March, four students from Thailand arrived in Adelaide. They were part of a larger group coming from Bangkok, ranging from primary to secondary school. After the official welcome from IES officials, they were taken away by their host families to start their cultural immersion. Tuesday 15 March was the first day at school and they were nervous and excited at the same time. In their own words, four weeks went so quickly and Friday 8 April came quicker than expected. Many memories and experiences will be part of the life of these four brave students who embraced the challenges of this exchange with such… Read more

ANZAC DAY ASSEMBLY – Commemorating 100 Years
For the 100 Year Anniversary of the Gallipoli Landing, our Campus held a combined Assembly on the Gleeson Oval on 7 May 2015, with over 3000 students and more than 300 staff to commemorate the event. Representatives from the Australian Defence Force once again offered their valued support by providing a Guest Speaker, WOD Michael Keefe, also a father to two of our students, as well as a Catafalque Party and Bugle player. Our proceedings were flanked by Cadets enrolled at the Campus schools, some of whom had a speaking part within the Assembly. Invited dignitaries were also in attendance. The event was kicked off with a fly-past by an AP3 Orion at 10:50am. In a performance of an original song by representative singers from each School on Campus, Campus students acknowledged the… Read more
