In December 2014 the Minister for Education and Child Development announced a number of new moves to strengthen student performance in our schools. One of these strategies is the Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT). There are two tests: PAT–R (Reading) and PAT–M (Numeracy). Every student from Year 3 to Year 10 undertakes two of these tests, one in Numeracy and the other in Literacy. These tests are very different to the NAPLAN tests. The main aim of PAT is to provide information to teachers on the strengths and needs of their students. PAT tests will provide teachers with objective information for setting realistic learning goals and planning effective programs. They will also provide students with information to inform their learning and goal setting, as well as providing our school… Read more

Connectivity in Schools - Improved Internet
Our school has been actively working with the Department for Education’s IT team to improve our internet connectivity. As such, we’ve been fortunate enough to be one of only 6 schools chosen to participate in a pilot program. This is an exciting initiative aimed at delivering faster, more reliable internet services to every student, in every school across the state – and, we are thrilled to be part of it. The internet connectivity pilot will be rolled out in our school during the July school holidays to minimise any disruption and will run throughout the second half of the year. Great change sometimes comes with teething problems so there may be some disruption to regular IT services while we work on improving the internet at our school. The good news is, our school will be getting… Read more
Skoolbag App Update to Download
Skoolbag is updating! The new ‘single’ app will give parents more control over how and when you receive notifications. The app is no longer individually tailored for each school – the user can choose which school they see information from as part of the registration process. Users can select multiple schools, within the one app from which to receive notifications. The new app requires you to download it from the App Store or the Google Play Store. This new app can be used immediately. Instructions for download can be accessed here. In mid-July Skoolbag is making the new ‘native’ app changes – you won’t need to do anything, it will be a simple, automatic update within your new Single Skoolbag… Read more
