Education ministers met on 20 March and decided that NAPLAN will be cancelled for 2020. This decision was made so that school leaders, teachers and support staff can focus on the wellbeing of students and prepare for the continuity of education, including working on online and remote learning options. This decision means that the scheduled testing of NAPLAN Online platform – the Coordination Practice Test (CPT) – scheduled for Monday 23 March will not go ahead. Further to the advice below, the latest information from SA Health is here. Tuesday 28 January 2020 Dear parent/caregiver, SA Health has provided advice to us about coronavirus, which is occurring in the Hubei Province of China and has also been reported in other parts of mainland China, and several other countries. Their advice is that preschool/school students and staff, even those that have travelled to Hubei Province, are able to return to school unless they are close contacts of a confirmed case, or they have symptoms consistent with the virus. Those symptoms may include fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, and sore throat. SACE Results for the 'Class of 2019'
Alex Carey, DUX of 2019 Congratulations to all members of the class of 2019 on their SACE achievements. Highlights of the results include: • The SACE completion rate of 98% is the highest ever.
Alex Carey is the Dux, with an ATAR of 97.90, achieving 4 A grades, including 1 at A+ and another at A+ with merit.
• Golden Grove High School students received a total of 5 merits.
100% completion of SACE modified subjects.
• The number of students receiving an ATAR above 80 is 32, of these 78% were over 85.
• 8 students had an ATAR of 95 or greater.
• Our students received 190 A grades between them.
